Target Stores Introduce William Rast
I recall a period of time when Target retail stores sold clothes that were hardly even socially acceptable. Today, it seems like major brand names have been adopted into their stores and it is almost like it has become a legitimate place to shop for clothes. If you are not convinced, maybe you haven’t gotten wind that quality designer jeans brand William Rast has now been added to Target’s growing list of brands.
If you’re not familiar, William Rast is a newish manufacturer of designer denim jeans, co-founded by Justin Timberlake. These jeans have been spotted on the rear-ends of countless famous celebrities around Los Angeles. It’s safe to say they will be the most pricey denim found at any Target in the US, but they are still at Target. Doesn’t that blow your mind?
Back when I was a small fry, I can recall being bored out of my mind at Target and begging my mommy to purchase me a $8 junk watch. Now, I can’t say with certainty what other types of watches (if any) were for sale, but I am guessing there were lots of types that were all in the same general price range. Today, you can see many types for sale there priced at $100 or more.
Another example is my adolescence. For the purpose of saving some scratch, my oblivious mother would buy me clothing from Target. At a time when the majority of my schoolmates were sporting cool, much more expensive, skate type brand labels, I was sporting random brand names like Utility and Mossimo, which were the trademarks of Target in those days. It was quite trying, to say the least.
Things have apparently changed. Now, buying clothes at Target stores is like the popular thing you can do. Who would have guessed?
